In her previous life, Nina Chase endured all kinds of hardships to raise her two sons into adulthood. She believed her two devoted sons would allow her to enjoy a peaceful retirement in her old age. However, on the very day of their college acceptance celebration, her husband, Harry Smith, miraculously "came back from the dead." He showed up with his mistress, Paige Young, to claim his biological sons. It was at this moment Nina discovered that the sons she had raised for eighteen years were actually the illegitimate children of her husband and his mistress! Overwhelmed and devastated, Nina suffered a fatal heart attack and died on the spot.
