After divorce, Peach Wilder returns home with daughter Daisy but is expelled by her siblings because of demolition money. She marries Ian Pace, a businessman she once saved. Facing her mother-in-law's disdain and stepson Jason Pace's resistance, Peach gradually wins them over by defending Jason's dignity and wisely easing household tensions. Despite harassment from her greedy birth family and schemes from Ian's ex-wife, Peach stands firm. Her mother's death, caused by family neglect, severs her final ties to her birth family. In the end, Peach, Ian, their children, and her mother-in-law form a true family.
