Sophia Davis, the young lady of the Davenport Group, marries Alexander Knight a false identity to repay a debt of life-saving grace. For three years, she diligently manages the household. Mia Davenport, the daughter of the Davenports’ housemaid, covets wealth and impersonates the young lady of the Davenport family. On their third wedding anniversary, Sophia catches her husband, Alexander, and Mia, his lover, in an affair. The true young lady, Sophia, is met with scorn from her mother-in-law and sister-in-law, and is thrown out of the house. After the divorce, the Knights continue to bully her, but Sophia consistently turns the tables and triumphs over them.
