After rebirth, Zanna Shaw discovered that the agony of her pregnancy had been transferred to her through curses by Wendy Lew. Despite a thorough investigation yielding no results, she used a scented sachet to identify the presence of both an anti-fertility drug and a miscarriage-prevention medicine, thus uncovering the medium of the witchcraft. She then subtly reversed the control, manipulating Wendy Lew's daily diet and routines until the latter gradually she deteriorated into madness. On the day of childbirth, Zanna Shaw retaliated with iced bitter gall tea, causing the curse to backfire on Wendy Lew. After exposing the truth, she took her dowry and headed south.
