Emily, the former leader of a secret organization, goes on the run after an assassination attempt. She dons a new identity and hides out in a hotel, only to unexpectedly spend a passionate night with the drugged Alexander. The next morning, Alexander orders his men to find Emily, but she fakes her death and disappears. Returning to her family's home, she resumes her humble role as the rural-born heiress, only to cross paths with Alexander at a social event.
