In the 1980s, Donna Lee, a rural widow left with three young children after her husband's car accident, returned to her parents’ home. To obtain a bride price, her family forced her to marry the village drunkard, an old bachelor. He abused her, scorned her children as burdens, and in her absence, sold them to human traffickers. For eighteen years, Donna endured his violence while scavenging and sweeping streets to survive, tirelessly posting flyers in search of her children. Her quest leads her from the countryside to a crumbling city tenement. Through relentless perseverance and against all odds, Donna and her children are finally reunited.
