The 18-year-old Vivian Thorne is sold by her stepmother to Julian Beaumont, a vegetative state patient, as his wife. By accident, she discovers that he is her savior from 18 years ago, so she takes care for him and treats his illness. When Vivian's brother-in-law assaults her, Julian regains consciousness. In order to take back everything, Julian continues to pretend to be ill, and Vivian also proposes to stay in the Beaumont family on the condition of treating his illness.
